29. The Aztecs, Part III: The Bride of Sacrifice
This story does a good job in terms of pacing, developing various conflicts, and incorporating some levity. It probably helps that it’s a four-part story rather than a six- or seven-parter.
Not that there aren’t befuddling moments. Barbara seems foolhardy admitting to Tlotoxl that she’s not Yetaxa. And it does seem surprising that somebody would be totally lovestruck by the First Doctor. But, I do have to say, Hartnell does a good job turning up the charm, so maybe I shouldn’t be so skeptical.
