26. The Keys of Marinus, Part VI: The Keys of Marinus
Maybe it’s the black-and-white imagery, or the fact that I’m not great with faces, or the fact that these one-off characters aren’t that memorable, but I wasn’t sure who the conspirator was after they unmasked him. I had to read the TARDIS Wiki plot description to verify his identity after the fact. For once, I would have appreciated some awkward dialogue explaining it for the denser members of the viewing audience. It could have gone like this:
- Doctor: “Aha! It was you – Eyesen, the Court Prosecutor!”
- Eyesen: “Yes, and I would have gotten away with it if weren’t for you meddling key-seekers!”
Two other observations:
- I like the new sassy side of Altos when he says “We’re going … BACK!”
- Sebetha gets over the murder of her father remarkably quickly.
