16. Marco Polo, Part III: Five Hundred Eyes
From the telesnaps, it looks like they might have put some effort into building the sets for the city and the caravan. It’d be interesting to see what it really looked like. I was surprised to hear a reference to hashish -- although it was in reference to people who went evil and insane, so maybe it was the Reefer Madness style of the time. I didn’t really understand why Susan freaked out at the cliffhanger. Did the eyes in the cave move or something?
I’m not sure I have a ton to say about this episode. It still seemed like there was some filler material, like Ping-Cho’s story. But I think it was marginally more interesting than Part II, so I’ll keep watching it.
